Question: Does Matthew 24:38-42 predict a secret rapture?

Question: Matthew 24:38-42 says:

For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 40 Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. 42 Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. (NKJV)

Does this mean there will be a secret rapture that no one will know about, before Jesus comes?

Answer: Noah declared to all the people that they had to repent and join him on his ark before the door was shut. The people of Noah’s time knew full well what they were denying, and had plenty of warning. Additionally, when the door to the ark was shut, it was a single event - there was no second chance after that for the people whom the flood destroyed.

   Hi I was directed to your site the this scripture is current even for today . The Lord has been impressing on my heart about these coming fiancial times this scriture kept drifting past me for the past week eating ,drinking giving in marrage,I knew i had seen it , where was it in the bible for a whole week I searched and prayed for His help nothing. Today I met with 2 my prayer mates from our church we prayed soon as I got home i asked with all my heart and opened my Bible right to Matthew 24 33 looked down to 38 there it was, wow You are who You say you are One Mighty Father thank you for these words Jesus.
   Can you help-i share my understanding my understaning He has impressed upon me this is a for-runner to the real thing people be warned of your comlpacency you do not listen or use wisdon still keep on your sinful ways dinking and eating to exess giving in marriiage. three ,3 note 3 things we are to do, get wise godly counsel in these , rid your debt, fast and be frugal, give to the needy of your overflow, this is going to be worse than you think it wil be Catastrophic caos and you will not know the day it crashes people when will say its getting better be warned.

   Richard, I appreciate your comment and you are correct. According to the Bible the difficult times will come quickly and harshly, yet those who know Jesus will be comforted and know the Peace this seminar is about. Jesus is the Peace. Perhaps our friends can come to know Him as well and have courage to stay faithful until He comes. Blessings to you, Gayle
